DRINKHALL BOWS OUT OF SUZHOU OPEN 21 August 2010 Paul Drinkhall began the under 21s tournament in the Suzhou open with a victory over Omar Assar (EGYPT), winning 4-3 (5-11, 11-7, 11-2, 11-5, 9-11, 8-11, 11-9). In the quarter finals Paul faced Kim Min Seok (Kor) but it was to be the end opf the road as he lost 4-2 (10-12, 6-11, 11-9, 12-10, 8-11, 3-11). Paul also suffered another loss, ths time in the last 32 of the mens singles. He went down 4-1 (8-11, 11-9, 9-11, 7-11, 7-11) to world no.13 Chen Qi. Paul has finished his time in Suzhou now but he on a personal level he felt he played okay, had good matches and enjoyed the tournamemt as a whole. He flies home late this Sunday and before heading out to Italy on Tuesday for a weeks training in the run up to the European Championships in Ostrava (Czech Republic) on 11th-19th September. |
