PLÜDERHAUSEN IN NARROW DEFEATS
16 Feb 2010

On 2nd February Paul's team Plüderhausen lost their match to TTC RS Fulda Maberzell. It was a very tight match with Fulda eventually coming out on top 3-2.

Paul lost to his old team mate Wang Xi in his singles match. In the deciding doubles match Paul and team-mate Aleksandar Karakasevic lost a hard fought match 3-2.

Paul's team then had to travel to Russia for the away leg of the ETTU Cup where it was expected to be extremely cold. There were big problems for the team because of the weather. One of the runways was shut in the airport resulting in the flight being delayed and the team missing their onward flight.

The team representatives pulled out all of the stops to get the team there for the match which eventually they did.

After two days of travel and not much sleep the already very difficult match was going to be even harder. The team fought hard but the strong Russian team ran out 3-0 winners with Paul losing his match 3-0 to world number 6, Vladimir Samsonov.

Paul then went back to Germany for a training camp for the European top 12. This is an event that is held every year where the top 12 players in Europe come together and play a round-robin tournament. Paul did not play n the tournamnet but had a great week in training with the best players in Europe.

Paul then joined up with his team to play in a play-off battle match against TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen. Again, this was a very tight match with Ochsenhausen coming out on top as 3-2 winners. Once more, Paul came up against a very difficult opponent in world number 20, Chuang Chih Yuan, losing 3-0.

The deciding match in the tie was the doubles with Paul and Karakasevic losing out in a very tight 3-2 loss.

Yesterday Paul traveled to the Qatar to compete in the Pro Tour event in the hope of improving his world ranking. Straight after the event in Qatar he will then be traveling to Kuwait to compete in the Pro Tour before coming home after a very long and busy period of the year.
