PLÜDERHAUSEN BEATEN IN ETTU CUP 1 Feb 2010 Paul Drinkhall's team, SV Plüderhausen, beat Frickenhausen 3-1 in a league match on 26th January although Paul losrt his match to Bastian Steger. On 29th January they played Fakel Gazpromo Orenburg from Russia in the ETTU Cup. The Russians had a very strong team consisting of V Samsonov, A Smirnov and F Kuzmin - all of which are in the world top 50. SV Plüderhausen lost the match 3-1 although Paul beat F Kuzmin in his respective game. The return match is in Russia on the 12th February and it is is expected to be as cold as -30 degrees. Tomorrow (2nd February) the team plays Fulda Maberzell in the league before Paul makes the train journey to Dusseldorf for a week before the match in Russia. The English National Championships are at Ponds Forge in Sheffield on the 5th, 6th and 7th of March and Paul will be competing to defend his titles.
