PLUDERHAUSEN INTO FINAL FOUR IN GERMAN CUP
17 Nov 2009

Paul had to make an unexpected trip to his club, Plüderhausen, on 5th November to cover for one of his ill team-mates in their match against FC Saarruchen in the German Cup.

Unfortunately Paul lost his match, however the team won 3-1 meaning they have made it into the 'Final Four'. The big event takes place on 27th December and features a music concert as part of the festivities.

The other three teams that have qualified are Borussia Dortmund, TTF Liebherr Ochenhausen, and TTC Fulda Maberzell.

On Saturday night Paul and his brother Bryn were invited to watch the Arctic Monkeys at Sheffield Arena by Sheffield International Venues (SIV) Chief Executive Steve Brailey.

Paul would like to thank everyone at SIV for their time and generosity which contributed to a very enjoyable night. They met some very nice and interesting people including Steve South from Real Radio Yorkshire.

Paul is in the final three in the Northern Echo local heroes Sports Awards which will take place in Sedgfield on 3rd December. There will be lots of sports personalities there and it should be a great night if past years are anything to go by.

The Awards ceremony also helps support Sports Aid Northern which is a charity that funds and helps young athletes to reach their goals and full potential. Paul received a lot of help from them when he was younger and he likes to return the favour by showing support in helping other young athletes reach their goals.

Paul travels to the 'Polish Open' next week where he is hoping to get a little closer to the world's top 100.
